Sheep is abstractly exploring the pressures and challenges many women face in today's societies. Body and pleasing issues, women against each other, learned little voices in the back of their heads.
The need for control and losing it.
How to feel and act when the storm is above you and the ground beneath you is crumbling?
Sheep was created as a part of a performance installation called Peephole which premiered in Human Gallery, Outokumpu in November 2018.
The installation features four screens in a dark room showing different versions of the video material. The viewer is able to see into the room through a plastic sheet that has holes cut on it. Inside the room, there is a human being flashing around with a flashlight and making contact with the viewer asking questions and having a conversation. To be able to hear better the viewer must put their head through a hole being put in the peephole.
The installation challenges the setting between the viewer and the artist by blurring the line of performance and casual conversation.
